From: Mike was a wonderful colleague, friend, and purveyor of good stories. He was always up for trying something adventurous or new and one of my fondest memories of Mike was when we were in Ecuador and went out to try Cuy. Great times were had that evening, much like anytime Mike was around. I am so sorry for his loss and offer my deepest condolences to his family. The world is a little darker without his bright personality and wit.

From: I am so sorry for your loss. I know Mike from running with us in group runs with fleet feet and the Athens GA Roadrunners. He was faster than me for sure. He will be greatly missed.

From: I will hold you all in my heart. I will remember that cute little blonde hair, blue eyed boy who grew into a kind, adventurous man with an incredible sense of humor. Love you all.

From: I was lucky to have got to know Mike during his time at UGA. I was the biologist over the bear population he did his research on. We spent a lot of time discussing bears and the central GA bear population specifically. His research helped tremendously in adding to our knowledge of this population. He was an amazing trapper and just all around great guy. He was funny and easy to talk with. He talked a lot about bears, The West and of course his dog. The bear world has lost a huge one. Wish his family the best during this difficult time.

From: I will fondly remember Hooker as a great running buddy and fellow dog-lover. He always had the right remark to make you forget your screaming leg muscles during a speed workout. And if he didn't have the right thing to say, then there was always Rooster to chime in. He was missed when he moved from Athens. He will be missed even more.

From: I am sorry to hear about the passing of Michael. I never met him but in his short time at the PA Game Commission, a lot of staff was excited to have him on board. I had heard from many others about his passion and him being a great addition to our agency. I am very sorry for your loss.

I am suspect the humble, quiet human being, with an amazing sense of humor and sensitivity underestimated his impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be greatly missed.
